When we met Northern Virginia Luxury Real Estate Expert, Sandra Reardon, we knew immediately that she was one of us. Read on to learn more about this incredible individual and the unique life experiences that have shaped her career.

Why did you decide to join Hunt Country Sotheby’s International Realty?

You speak with a charming accent. What is your ethnic heritage?

I am originally from Chile, and I moved to the United States in 2003 to pursue my American dream.  Since I landed in this beautiful country, I have fallen in love with it. I love the people, and I deeply respect the culture. 

I believe life is a beautiful adventure, and moving here was one of the best adventures ever. It has shaped me, challenged me, and given me incredible opportunities to grow and create the life I always dreamed of.

Anyone can tell from meeting you the first time that you have an extremely strong positive outlook on life. Where does that come from? How do you sustain that?

My positive outlook on life comes from my deep passion for life itself. I love life, and to me, it is a gift from God. With that perspective, I wake up every morning with gratitude, excited to embrace another day. I find joy in the little things—taking a peaceful walk with my dogs, enjoying nature, and simply being present in the moment.

I sustain this mindset by always focusing on the good in any situation and understanding others by meeting them where they are. I never waste my energy on negativity, gossip, or worrying about others’ opinions. I live my life on my own terms—loving and respecting others, but always staying true to myself. I refuse to let the outside world dictate my happiness or affect my inner peace. My strength comes from within, and I choose to live each day with purpose, joy, and unwavering positivity.

Losing my husband suddenly in 2020 was one of the most difficult moments of my life. It changed my perspective on time, priorities, and what truly matters. His passing inspired me to start living life differently—traveling, saying yes to experiences, and focusing on what brings me joy. It also strengthened my determination to empower others, whether in real estate or through personal connections.

Dogs or Cats?

Definitely dogs! I truly believe that dogs are angels. I am an animal lover, but I think dogs are something special—they have an incredible ability to love unconditionally and bring so much joy into our lives.

Growing up, my parents never let me have dogs, but that didn’t stop me from trying.  As a child, I used to pick up stray dogs from the streets and secretly keep them in a second empty house that my parents owned. It was a huge deal when they found out, but I couldn’t help myself—I just wanted to take care of them and make sure they were warm in the winter.

One thing that breaks my heart is that dogs live such short lives. I don’t think it’s fair, but I believe that while they are here, we can give them the best life on earth—filled with love, care, and happiness. They give us so much, and it’s our responsibility to make every moment they have as special as possible. My dogs mean the world to me, and I cherish every moment with them.

Why did you choose a career in real estate?

Real estate is my passion because it allows me to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Helping individuals and families find their dream homes, make smart investments, and build generational wealth is incredibly fulfilling. I started in real estate in 2004, working with property auctions, and over time, I transitioned into luxury real estate, where I thrive. I love the dynamic nature of the industry, the relationships I build, and the opportunity to serve my clients at the highest level.

When you’re not selling real estate, how do you like to spend your time?

I’m passionate about fitness and was a former international professional bodybuilder, so I dedicate a lot of time to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I love traveling, exploring different cultures, and learning from my experiences around the world. I also enjoy reading, meditating, and spending quality time with my daughter and my two dogs.

What’s unique about you as a real estate agent?

What sets me apart from other real estate agents is my ability to connect with a diverse range of clients. Being bilingual allows me to communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds, and my international experience helps me understand various markets—from the luxury sector to first-time homebuyers. To me, it’s never about the price of the property—it’s about the fulfillment that comes from helping my clients reach their real estate goals. Whether I’m assisting a high-net-worth individual with a luxury estate or guiding a first-time buyer through the process, my priority is always to provide exceptional service, expert advice, and a seamless experience.
